Sistema de Orquestas de Guatemala is a musical organization inspired by Venezuela’s El Sistema program that aims to promote social development through the collective practice of music in choirs, marimba ensembles, and orchestras. SOG runs three inclusive music schools located in Guatemala City, Sacatepéquez, and Chimaltenango.

For three decades, Blume Haiti has run a wide range of annual music camps across Haiti. Camp sites include the Cemuchca Institute of Music, Holy Trinity Music School, Academie Musicale Occide Jeanty, Dessaix-Baptiste Music School, and Catherine Flon Music School, among others.

Field Host: Victoriano Lopez Music School

Founded in 1945, the Victoriano Lopez Music School is one of the few music institutions in Honduras to provide formal training in classical music to high school students. It offers a 5-year Bachelor of Music program with a specialization in instrumental performance, preparing its graduates to enter the workforce as pedagogues, soloists, chamber, and orchestral musicians.

Orquestas y coros para prevención de la violencia is a program of the Department of Public Security of the Organization of American States. It aims to prevent youth violence at the municipal level through teaching life skills through the regular practice of choir and orchestra for young students between 10 and 18 years old in situations of social vulnerability and violence.

Compaz provides free access to music education for youth from vulnerable sectors of Aguascalientes (Green Line). Their symphony orchestra and choir programs foster inclusion, social development, and provide access to cultural activities.

The Nucleo Comunitario de Aprendizaje Musical Quinta Carolina (NUCAM) is an initiative of México a través del Arte. With a focus on social impact through music, NUCAM promotes personal and community development, as well as artistic talent in Chihuahua. NUCAM serves students through a symphony orchestra, guitar orchestra, choir, and classes introducing students to music.

Orquesta Veraguense de Vientos

Orquesta Panameña de Vientos is Panama’s best in the training of symphonic band repertoire. Top talent from around the country is invited to join at intense short-term residencies held at various times during the year in Panama City. The orchestra was launched with a mission to develop the symphonic band and wind ensemble repertoire in a city with a long history of military and marching bands.

In over 30 years, the ANC has elevated itself as the most important private organization supporting the nurturing of classical music in the country. In collaboration with Oberlin University, the ANC hosts the annual Campamento Musical Juvenil, an intense orchestral training setting that takes place in Ciudad del Saber, a former US military compound, serving as an opportunity for Panamanian students from all provinces to access orchestral repertoire training.

Founded in 1975, Escuela Juvenil de Música serves as one of the most important centers in music. It offers private instruction in the majority of the symphonic instruments, as well as instruction in theory, solfège, and orchestral training. The school is host to Taller de Trombones, an international trombone symposium attended by 80 students from around the country featuring great performers and pedagogues from across the Americas.

Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music is the leading music education institution on the island. For decades, it has nurtured top musicians ranging from classical to popular music. JAMM is a tuition-free music program, which uses the power of music and the social experience of ensembles to help youth reach their fullest potential. With both during and after-school programming, JAMM serves over 500 students in three elementary schools and over 100 secondary students.

The University of Arkansas Community Music School is an outreach program of the University of Arkansas Music Department that provides music education and programs for students of all ages and levels. MYS provides music education and performance opportunities for young musicians of all ages and levels of experience. MYS has a strong financial aid program that welcomes all students regardless of circumstances, and a school outreach program that performs 15 concerts each season to 5,000 local students.

Trombonanza began in Santa Fe, Argentina as a regional gathering of South America’s top orchestral trombonists and tubists in 2000. In years since, the annual festival has grown into a week-long celebration of low brass, welcoming more than 150 professionals and students from around the world.

Founded in 1906, the Plurinational Conservatory of Music offers a variety of programs in the areas of classical and modern music. Its faculty and administrative body are comprised of 135 members serving over 1,000 students. Since 2013, the Conservatory offers a Licenciatura in music, positioning itself as the country’s most important center of teachers and professionals in the field of classical music.

The San Ignacio de Moxos Superior Institute of Music was founded to support the advancement of the Moxos community. The institute offers tuition-free music education and enables its students to develop professional opportunities in addition to learning more about their own history.

With more than a dozen music centers including its flagship campus in Salvador, NEOJIBÁ serves over 4,600 youth in the state of Bahia through its network of youth orchestra Nucleos that provide access to free music lessons and ensemble training.

Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano is a nonprofit organization that provides arts education and social inclusion for children and adolescents living in the border region between Brazil and Bolivia. The Juan Noe Crevani Artistic School has 500 students with ages ranging from 7 to 18, offering instruction in strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion, in addition to choir and classical guitar training.

The Centro de Desarrollo Social y Cultural provides musical training for youth from indigenous origins, vulnerable sectors, and those with special needs. The center teaches a wide range of instruments using the Kodaly and Dalcroze Methods, as well as offering music learning techniques through early childhood classes.

The Chonchi Philharmonic Orchestra promotes education and access to classical music. Each year, it welcomes 50+ students between the ages of 4-20. There are six ensembles, including the Municipal Chamber Orchestra of Chonchi, a chamber ensemble, and violin, viola, cello, and wind ensembles.
