Following a global reviews process involving hundreds of top candidates from around the word, a select Cohort of 35 rising change-makers in music was invited to take part in the 2018 GLI Journey. The 2018 Cohort is comprised of participants from 17 nations representing five continents and includes professional orchestra musicians, project founders, teaching artists, doctoral candidates, and university professors. Participants represent a range of diverse and dynamic institutions from Daniel Barenboim’s West-Eastern Divan Orchestra to New York-based investment firm Goldman Sachs, from the founders of innovative performance ensembles in Greece and the United States to the co-founders of music education initiatives in Spain, Denmark, Jamaica, and elsewhere.
With more music programs around the world, violence could quickly become a thing of the past.
