Impact + Viability = Sustainable Solution

In the GLI’s Financial Management for Enterprises Module, led by instructor Leah D. Barto of Endeavor explores the rise of hybrid social organizations.

The past 15 years have increasingly seen mission-focused enterprises using commercial strategies to scale their social impact goals. This new generation of endeavors is far less dependent on subsidies than their predecessors, instead developing impact-focused products and services with marketplace fit and need.

In these hybrid organizations, leaders do not have to choose between impact and sales — instead, they support each other. The growth of the business amplifies the reach of its social mission.

While not the right fit for all contexts in the arts, creative entrepreneurs can grow by exploring, testing, and adapting these new models for sustaining change.

Special Exemption for Career Artists

The Global Arts MBA recognizes that across the sector, many of the highest-level career creatives (music prodigies, professional dancers, and others) have pursued their craft from a young age and therefore may not possess a conventional academic background.

The Admissions Committee acknowledges these exceptional career experiences where relevant as serving in place of the bachelor’s degree otherwise required for admission to The Global Arts MBA.

Candidates with this profile should slect "Other" for Highest Academic Degree.
