Foundation Roundtable
Inside Perspective:
Arts Philanthropy for Social Impact
The Foundation Roundtable, a series of engaging conversations brought to you by The Global Leaders Institute, with support from The Philanthropy Roundtable. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between philanthropic foundations and the art projects they support, fostering a deeper understanding of their unique relationship.
Our mission is to create a vibrant learning environment where creative leaders, artists, practitioners, and arts organizations can gain insights from today’s foundation representatives. By exploring what foundations seek in the art projects they fund and understanding their operational frameworks, we aim to build stronger, more collaborative relationships between foundations and the arts and culture sector.
This session addresses a critical and timely question: In a world teeming with needs and philanthropic initiatives, how can we ensure that art projects capture the attention and support of funding foundations? Join us as we explore ways to make art projects more relevant and appealing to philanthropic foundations.

FROM VISION TO ROLLOUT The “10,000 Children” Case Study
Canadian arts entrepreneur Ken MacLeod (Founder and CEO of Sistema NB) will present how Sistema NB developed its vision for significant expansion and engaged supporters in funding that growth. Join an interactive conversation unpacking the “10,000 Children” plan and campaign with Ken and Foundation leaders from four grant-making institutions across North and South America.
The goal of this series of conversations is to provide a learning space for the audience to understand better what philanthropic foundations look for in the art projects they support and how they operate to build a closer understanding and stronger bridges between the objectives of foundations and practitioners in the field. Through this, the aim is to provide practitioners with an outline of how to build their cases by consulting early, planning deeply, and demonstrating impact. This will lead to more successful collaborations and alliances between practitioner organizations and supporting foundations, particularly in the realm of impact and social impact projects based on music and arts.

The goal is to help build a closer understanding and stronger bridges between the objectives of philanthropic foundations and the strategies of practitioners in the field, in order to lead to more successful future collaborations and alliances between practitioner organizations and supporting foundations.
